Post Secondary Information Session

On Thursday, September 26 during Meet the Teacher at 6:30 PM, guidance counsellors will be hosting a session for grade 12 students and families in rooms 320 & 321 who are interested in learning more about different post-secondary schools/programs, admission requirements, application process, scholarship opportunities, and more. 

Post- Secondary Visits at RTHS

Students can learn about opportunities about different post-secondary schools from student recruiters and ask questions for the following post-secondary institutions: 

  • St. Frances Xavier University: Tuesday, October 1 (8-9 AM) in the Space (Booth)
  • University of Alberta (for International students): Wednesday, October 9th (Lunch) in theatre (Presentation)
  • University of Lethbridge: Thursday, October 10 (Lunch) Location TBA
  • Mount Royal University: Thursday, October 24 (Lunch) in the theatre (Presentation)

Post-Secondary Open Houses- Fall 2024

Multiple Alberta-based post-secondary open houses will take place in October. Students, please reference Success Centre D2L shell for information on dates and to register in advance. 

Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Success Centre also recently posted upcoming scholarship opportunities for September/October 2024 on our school site listed here, so that families are able to see as well, which includes further information on Loran Scholarship, University of Toronto Book Award, Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship and more. For University of Toronto Book Award and Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship, for students to be considered, they need to submit their application to their colour community guidance counsellors by Friday, October 4. Students need to be a successful candidate of the University of Toronto book award in order to qualify to apply to the University of Toronto's National Scholarship. Application details are listed in the scholarship monthly listing in link above. Students can also access scholarship information through Success Centre D2L shell.

Children’s Grief Centre 

Through the Children’s Grief Centre, families with children aged 19 and under are supported as they adjust to the changes in their lives when someone close to them has died. Using individual, family counselling, and group support, we work with children, teens, and their families to help them gain the tools they need to face grief. Intake process initiated by calling 403-263-4525.
