Open House

We look forward to welcoming all RTHS families to our Open House on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.  Admin and Guidance will be in the space welcoming families through out the evening.  Students from Leadership will also be present to help families in knowing where teachers will be located.  Please refer to your parent PowerSchool account for your student’s teachers.  Guidance will be hosting a session for grade 12 students and families in Rooms 320 & 321 to learn more about Post-Secondary.

Fees

School Fees are now due for payment through your MyCBE account. If you are unable to pay through your account, you are welcome to pay at the Business Office!

Photos

Photo proofs are being sent home with all students during Connect tomorrow.  Retakes will be taking place on October 16.

Awards Night

Our 2023-24 Awards Night will be taking place on Thursday, October 10.  Doors will open at 6:00pm and the program will begin promptly at 6:30pm. 

Band Fundraising

Success Center

Post Secondary Information Session

On Thursday, September 26 during Meet the Teacher at 6:30 PM, guidance counsellors will be hosting a session for grade 12 students and families in rooms 320 & 321 who are interested in learning more about different post-secondary schools/programs, admission requirements, application process, scholarship opportunities, and more. 

Post- Secondary Visits at RTHS

Students can learn about opportunities about different post-secondary schools from student recruiters and ask questions for the following post-secondary institutions: 

  • St. Mary's University: Tuesday, September 24th  (Lunch) in the Space (Booth)
  • SAIT: Wednesday, September 25th (lunch time) in Rooms 210/212 (Presentation)
  • St. Frances Xavier University: Tuesday, October 1st (8-9 AM) in the Space (Booth)
  • University of Alberta (for International students): Wednesday, October 9th (Lunch) in theatre (Presentation)
  • University of Lethbridge: Thursday, October 10th (Lunch) Location TBA

Post-Secondary Open Houses- Fall 2024

Multiple Alberta-based post-secondary open houses will take place in October. Students, please reference Success Centre D2L shell for information on dates and to register in advance. 

Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Success Centre also recently posted upcoming scholarship opportunities for September/October 2024 on our school site listed here, so that families are able to see as well, which includes further information on Loran Scholarship, University of Toronto Book Award, Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship and more. For University of Toronto Book Award and Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship, for students to be considered, they need to submit their application to their colour community guidance counsellors by Friday, October 4th. Students need to be a successful candidate of the University of Toronto book award in order to qualify to apply to the University of Toronto's National Scholarship. Application details are listed in the scholarship monthly listing in link above. Students can also access scholarship information through Success Centre D2L shell.
