Come out to Shouldice Hellard Field tonight at 5pm to cheer on our Senior Boys Football team in their league opening game. Please note Gate Admissions apply, $5 for adults and $2 for seniors/children

Student Absences/Lates
Please remember to call and leave a message on our absence line should your student be absent or late from classes. As we receive a significant number of messages daily, please only call the office to discuss if the attendance hasn’t been updated by the end of the day.
Diploma Re-Writes
If there are any students that would like to re-write diplomas that they wrote in June or August during the scheduled November sittings, please see Ms. Adams in the office by Tuesday, September 10.
Student Parking
Student parking forms were sent out to student email accounts. Forms will only be accepted via email at sjbarber@cbe.ab.ca Upper lot cost is $31.50 and Lower lot cost is $15 +GST. Passes will not be given out to students until the fee associated with them is paid through MyCBE.
Success Centre
Success Centre encourages all students to regularly check the Success Centre D2L shell for important updates and information.
Post- Secondary Visits at RTHS
Students can learn about opportunities about different post-secondary schools from student recruiters and ask questions for the following post-secondary institutions:
- University of Alberta: Tuesday, September 10 during Focus (9:50 AM-10:25 AM) in theatre (Presentation)
- Augustana campus (University of Alberta): Tuesday, September 17 (8-8:45 AM) in the Space (Booth)
- University of Victoria: Wednesday, September 18 (8-8:45 AM) in the Space (Booth)
- University of Calgary: Wednesday, September 18 (lunch time) in the theatre (Presentation)
- St. Mary's University: Tuesday, September 24 (lunch time) in the Space (Booth)

Mayor's Youth Council (Youth Central)
The Mayor’s Youth Council is a committee of 21 youth between the ages of 12-18. The committee is divided into three sub-committees, that meet once a week. Every year of the Mayor’s Youth Council is different, as the events and projects are up to the committee to decide. In the past, committees have hosted events, conducted surveys, written reports and organized contests that shed light on youth issues in Calgary. Recruitment takes place in August/September of each year.
Recruitment for the 2024-2025 program is now open and submit it prior to September 11, 2024. Click here for more information and for application.

Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Success Centre also recently posted upcoming scholarship opportunities for September/October 2024 on our school site listed here, so that families are able to see as well, which includes further information on Loran Scholarship, University of Toronto Book Award, Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship and more. Students can also access scholarship information through Success Centre D2L shell.

The Summit Child and Youth Mental Health Centre
Alberta Health Services recently opened the Summit Child and Youth Mental Health Centre in April 2023. The Summit provides free walk-in mental health supports for all children and adolescents from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. No referral is needed for walk in services. Click here for more information.
