Athletics Update

Spring Sports are starting next month! As a school we love to offer as many programs as possible and this can’t be done without our amazing teacher volunteers as well as our community coaches. We are asking the community if anyone is interested in coming to help support our Track & Field program. If you have knowledge for the sport that would be very helpful! If you are interested in helping out, please reach out to our Athletic Director, Lindsay MacWilliam (LMMACWILLIAM@CBE.AB.CA) or the Track & Field head coach, Paige LaRoche (PCLAROCHE@CBE.AB.CA). ‘


Badminton season has started and the team has been made! Congratulations to all those who made the team.

Basketball season continues next week with our boys teams hosting games on Tuesday Feb 10th! Sr’s at 5:30 and Jr’s at 7:30.

​​​​​​​Spring Sports start the week of March 9th. Girls Rugby interest meeting is happening Tuesday Feb 10th at lunch. Anyone interested in playing or learning more about the sport is encouraged to come! Stay tuned for specific sports dates.


Success Center

Semester 1 Credits/MyPass Account

Grade 12 students who completed a diploma level course will not have the credits reported on their detailed academic report (DAR) until Friday, February 13th by Alberta Education. Other courses have already been reported on their DAR. If grade 12 students do not know how to access their DAR via their MyPass account (which students created in grade 10 during Connect), Grade 12 students should drop into the Success Centre to speak with Ms. Lapierre who can assist them further. 


Prospective University of Calgary Students Events

Registration 101
Students are invited to attend Registration 101, an engaging and interactive session hosted by UCalgary’s Recruitment, Admissions, and Enrolment Services teams for newly admitted students. This session is offered both in person and virtually. Students can register for the in-person session here, or the virtual session here.

Admissions Unplugged: Second Round of Offers
We’ll also be hosting an Admissions Unplugged session for Calgary students who have received a second update on their application and are looking for guidance on next steps on February 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This session will walk through where we are in the application process, the role of the Student Access Program, required documentation, and considerations for changing or updating program choices. There will be lots of time for student questions. Students can register here


Transition to Post-Secondary Education for Students Experiencing Disabilities

This free event is an opportunity to obtain information about accessing
academic accommodations in the post-secondary environment. Event will take place at St. Mary's Campus on Saturday, February 28th from 1-3 PM. Poster attached for more info and to register in advance to attend.

Young Women in Trades & Technologies

Are you a high school young woman curious about auto body or thinking about a future in trades? Come try it for a day. Join CAREERs for Young Women in Trade and Technology Auto Body Day where you will get hands on experience, learn real shop skills, and explore what a career in auto body can look like on March 27th from 8AM-4 PM.

Investing in the Future (Education Matters)

Investing in the Future scholarship is available to Grade 12 students in CBE high schools who will be pursuing a 4-year University Degree at a Canadian University (any field of study). Additional details on the award are attached and can be found at Investing in the Future Award | Awards | EducationMatters

This year, the incredibly generous donor is once again offering 10 awards of $100,000 each ($25,000 per year over 4 years). Deadline: March 30th, 2026

Recovery Alberta Community Education Sessions


Here is an upcoming list of free, virtual educational sessions offered through Recovery Alberta: Youth Crime, Talking to Youth with Complex Needs about Sexuality, and Mental Health and Youth. Click here for more information and to register.


Youth Substance Use and Mental Health Services


Provides mental health and substance use screening, assessment, individual, group and family counselling. Access to a recreational therapist, psychoeducational assessment and psychiatry services available. Additional referral services to more intensive and / or residential treatment programs both external and internal to Alberta Health Services available. Youth Substance Use and Mental Health Services: Youth and families can self-refer at 403-297-4664 to speak with an intake counsellor.

  • Thursday, February 26th
    • Grade 10 and 11 students: During Connect, Success Centre will be providing important information regarding course registration for the 2026-2027 school year. Information will be shared to families prior to support the course registration process


  • Grade 12 students: During Connect, Connect teachers will share updated credential reports from Alberta Education that show your child's progress towards earning their Alberta high school diploma or certificate of achievement.
