Report cards will be available to families via PowerSchool on February 3, 2026.  At that time, visibility for Semester 2 classes and grades will be resume.


School Council Needs Your Help

Robert Thirsk High School’s casino dates are Saturday February 14 and Sunday February 15, 2026, at PURE Casino – 1420 Meridian Road NE. This is the time where your volunteer efforts can help raise enormous funds for Robert Thirsk High School!

Our fundraising efforts will be contributed to supplies (including technology) and equipment for our school; teaching residencies to help enhance learning; transportation if needed for field trips, sport events etc. and much more!

We appreciate your time and contribution in helping us raise money to benefit the school!

Grad Information and Events


Baby Grad Photos

2026 Grads can now submit their childhood photos to the Success Centre D2L shell, to be displayed on a slideshow at this year's Grad Banquet.  This should be either a baby or young childhood photo.  Grads may also choose to submit a second photo where they re-create their original pose in the childhood photo. 

Please label all photos with the students' first and last name!  Students should look for posters with a QR code link to the assignment around the building to easily access the Dropbox.

HARD DEADLINE: FRIDAY, MARCH 20th (no exceptions.)


CRUSH 4 CRUSH Valentine’s Fundraiser

Grad Committee will be selling Crush Pop in the Space beginning next Wednesday, January 28th with all proceeds going towards Grad Charity.

Grad Photos

The website is officially open to book grad sessions. Please find attached the grad flyer for graduates and their families to sign up for the photos. 

The booking link is https://schedule.prestigeportraits.ca/schedule/home.html  Students and parents will search by Postal Code, then School Name. 


Textbook Returns

Please remind your student that ALL textbooks and English Language Arts novels from semester one (or previous years) should be returned to the Learning Commons as soon as possible.

Students who require specific resources for final assignments or assessments may keep those books and return them immediately upon completion.


All semester one resources must be returned before signing out materials for semester two.

Athletics Update


Badminton season is underway! First tryout Thurs Jan 29th 3pm and second tryout is Monday Feb 2nd at 5pm. If you have any questions please contact the coaches Ms. Warne (AMWARNE@CBE.AB.CA) or Mr. Davies (FRMDAVIES@CBE.AB.CA).


Basketball continues this week! All 3 teams play on Thursday Jan 29th. Sr Girls 5:30 @ RTHS and the boys are playing at Lord Beaverbrook. Jr’s at 5:30 and Sr’s at 7:30.


Next week the girls have 2 away games. 5:30 Tuesday Feb 3rd at Lester B Pearson and Thursday Feb 5th 7:30 at JCS. The boys play on Thursday Feb 5th at home.

She Governs- Participating in Municipal Leadership: Model Council and Speakers' Panel

She Governs is an annual program that offers participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Calgary’s municipal government. This includes how council meetings are conducted and what it takes to become a member of council.


Please note: Selected participants must also complete 4 hours of mandatory capacity-building and training between March 6 and 13, scheduled outside regular school hours.

Investing in the Future (Education Matters)


Investing in the Future scholarship is available to Grade 12 students in CBE high schools who will be pursuing a 4-year University Degree at a Canadian University (any field of study). Additional details on the award are attached and can be found at Investing in the Future Award | Awards | EducationMatters

This year, the incredibly generous donor is once again offering 10 awards of $100,000 each ($25,000 per year over 4 years) Students can apply through EducationMatters’ application portal linked here. Upon registering for an account students will get an email asking them to “confirm” their account and, from there, they will be able to access the application.

Applicants are required to submit proof of financial need.

Applicants are required to submit an original essay of approximately 500 words or a two minute video introducing yourself to us, sharing the impact on your life and the impact you hope to have on the world should you receive this opportunity. Click here for more information.
