Reminder to all families that there are no classes for all students on Monday, January 26th , Tuesday January 27th and Friday, January 30th.  Semester 2 classes begin on Wednesday, January 28th and there will be Connect on Thursday, January 29th.

Baby Grad Photos

2026 Grads can now submit their childhood photos to the Success Centre D2L shell, to be displayed on a slideshow at this year's Grad Banquet.  This should be either a baby or young childhood photo.  Grads may also choose to submit a second photo where they re-create their original pose in the childhood photo. 

 

Please label all photos with the students' first and last name!  Students should look for posters with a QR code link to the assignment around the building to easily access the Dropbox.

CRUSH 4 CRUSH Valentine’s Fundraiser

Grad Committee will be selling Crush Pop in the Space beginning next Wednesday, January 28th with all proceeds going towards Grad Charity.

The website is officially open to book grad sessions. Please find attached the grad flyer for graduates and their families to sign up for the photos.

School Council Needs Your Help

Robert Thirk High School’s casino dates are Saturday February 14 and Sunday February 15, 2026, at PURE Casino – 1420 Meridian Road NE. This is the time where your volunteer efforts can help raise enormous funds for Robert Thirk High School!

 

Our fundraising efforts will be contributed to supplies (including technology) and equipment for our school; teaching residencies to help enhance learning; transportation if needed for field trips, sport events etc. and much more!

Textbook Returns

Please remind your student that ALL textbooks and English Language Arts novels from semester one (or previous years) should be returned to the Learning Commons as soon as possible.

Students who require specific resources for final assignments or assessments may keep those books and return them immediately upon completion.

 

All semester one resources must be returned before signing out materials for semester two.

She Governs- Participating in Municipal Leadership: Model Council and Speakers' Panel

She Governs is an annual program that offers participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Calgary’s municipal government. This includes how council meetings are conducted and what it takes to become a member of council.

 

Please note: Selected participants must also complete 4 hours of mandatory capacity-building and training between March 6 and 13, scheduled outside regular school hours.

Diamond Willow Youth Lodge (Miskanawah)

Diamond Willow Youth Lodge is a safe, welcoming place for youth between the ages of 12 - 29 to drop-in or participate in a variety of programs and activities. Designed by young people, for young people, the lodge is a hub where Indigenous youth connect with peers, participate in their own sense of healing and well-being while accessing a variety of programs and supports. 



 Some of the programs offered include:

  • Healing and visits with cultural knowledge keepers
  • Elder hours – indigenous cultural awareness teachings
  • Employment, education, and mental health support
  • Indigenous crafts
  • Weekly drumming
  • Movie nights
  • Sports and recreation
  • Game night
