Reminder that photo retakes will be taking place on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025.  Students will be called down with priority given to those who did no have a photo taken in the fall.

School Society – School Volunteers Needed

 

Robert Thirsk High School’s casino dates are Saturday February 14 and Sunday February 15, 2026, at PURE Casino – 1420 Meridian Road NE. This is the time where your volunteer efforts can help raise enormous funds for Robert Thirsk High School!

Our fundraising efforts will be contributed to supplies, including technology and equipment for our school; teaching residencies to help enhance learning; transportation if needed for field trips, sport events etc. and much more!

We appreciate your time and contribution in helping us raise money to benefit the school!

Musical Theater Performance December 10th and 11th

 

RTHS Musical Theatre presents: Stand Up! A Musical Medley.

 Join us for a fun-filled evening with talented performers from Musical Theatre 15,25, and 35 students showcasing their musical skills, with lights and sound (and other technical elements) designed by Technical Theatre 25 and 35 students.

 Doors open: 5:30 PM
Show begins: 6:00 PM

 There will be a bake sale in the lobby for you to purchase sweet treats hosted by the RTHS Fine Arts Society. As this show is only one act, the bake sale will be open before and after the performance. All proceeds go towards Fine Arts programming at RTHS.

School Council Pizza Days

School Council is happy to announce the 1st pizza day of the year on Friday December 5th, 2025.

  • Students must attend their Connect class on Friday. They will receive a ticket to exchange for their pizza in The Space at 1:35 pm that day.
  • If your student is absent on December 5, please consider your order a donation. We are unable to issue refunds.

Success Center

Grade 12 Alberta High School Diploma or Certificate of Achievement Credential Checks

During Connect classes earlier this school year, grade 12 students had an opportunity to review their credential check from Alberta Education, which outlines their progress towards completing their high school diploma or certificate of achievement by June 2026. Credential checks were to be signed by both student and parent/guardian to ensure transparent communication and handed into their Connect Teachers by Friday, November 21st. If you have not received this information, please follow up with your child and submit the credential check at your earliest convenience to their Connect teacher. 

 

Post-Secondary Fair Rescheduled Date: 

    • ELAA (Alberta-based post-secondary fair)- Thursday, December 4th from 9-11 AM

Scholarships

 Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Success Centre also recently posted upcoming scholarship opportunities for November and December 2025 on our school site listed here, 


Schulich Leader Scholarship

Successful applicants could receive up to $120 000 scholarship if pursuing an engineering degree and $100 000 scholarship if pursuing science, technology, or math degree. 

To be eligible, students need to be on track to graduate in the 2025/2026 academic school year; be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and plan to enroll in an eligible STEM program at one of the partner universities listed here. Additionally, students must meet the following criteria outlined below. Strong consideration is given for students with financial need.

Robert Thirsk High School is able to nominate 1 student. To be considered, students must submit 1-2 page outline to your guidance counsellor by Friday, January 16th, 2026 that indicates how you meet the following criteria:

  • Academic excellence
  • Entrepreneurial leadership in science, technology, engineering, or math
  • Outline your top achievements (Academic or other)
  • Financial need (if applicable) and extenuating circumstances
  • Include universities and faculties that you are applying to

Submit using point form, paragraphs, or any creative way you choose to explain how you meet the criteria.
